Position: Superblock (SBK) Quality Leader We are seeking a Superblock (SBK) Quality Leader to provide programmatic and administrative leadership, strategy, and direction for various compliance functions and disciplines in support of the SBK facility. The primary objective is to effectively establish, implement, and continually improve nuclear‑activity compliance to ensure programs and processes meet the requirements of the consensus standard ASME NQA‑1. This position reports to the Superblock Compliance & Assurance Director in the Strategic Deterrence (SD) Directorate. Location & Schedule Hybrid schedule may be offered, allowing you to work from home one or more days per week after a probationary period. Specific office days may vary. Pay Range $262,410 - $332,772 Annually for the SEL.5 level. The range reflects the salary that would be paid for this role as of this posting, based on competencies, experience, and performance. In this Role Provide new nuclear compliance program development and strategic direction in support of both the facility and research program. Prepare or solicit proposals for programmatic change with potential and/or existing customers/sponsors. Ensure that nuclear facility compliance status, risks, and strategies are communicated to senior leadership and customers/sponsors in a timely and effective manner. Use specific knowledge about one or more nuclear activity areas to research, plan, communicate and coordinate integration of nuclear compliance into the nuclear facility. Provide technical and organizational leadership to multi‑disciplinary project teams. Make or influence program‑level decisions that ensure project and program goals are met. Plan and direct assigned projects from initiation through delivery and closing, coordinating with customers/sponsors, LLNL management, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders. Develop innovative solutions to highly complex and unusual circumstances that have quality attributes associated with them. Lead, coordinate, and participate in activities related to recruiting, hiring, training, performance management, and salary administration, including career counseling, mentoring, and coaching. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q‑level security clearance; U.S. citizenship required. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related technical area, or equivalent significant related experience. Previous or current qualification as an NQA‑1 Lead Auditor. Highly Advanced experience in implementing ASME NQA‑1 requirements, emphasizing design, procurement, material traceability, records, and special processes. Advanced experience in Non‑Conformance Reporting (NCR) and Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) processes. Expertise in reviewing and approving technical documents for procurement actions. Excellent communication, facilitation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with small, multi‑disciplinary teams. Familiarity with ASME, AWS, UL, NEMA, ASTM, and Commercial Grade Dedication documents. Subject Matter Expert implementing, overseeing, and managing broad quality programs. Desired Additional Qualifications Experience implementing DOE NNSA nuclear standards in an ASME NQA‑1 environment. Advanced experience leading quality programs for research, fabrication, operations, or construction at a DOE facility or nuclear power plant. Strong knowledge of industry standards pertinent to engineering disciplines. Experience in commercial grade item dedication and environmental qualification. Knowledge of DOE Documented Safety Analysis requirements. Security Clearance This position requires a DOE Q‑level clearance. Background investigation will be conducted to determine eligibility. Q‑level clearance requires U.S. citizenship. All cleared employees may be subject to random drug testing.
