Compensation Pay Range:

$84,400.00 - $126,600.00

Under general supervision, a Senior System/ Network Administrator installs, configures and maintains the servers and related systems required to support the O'Reilly computing environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Monitor, maintain, and optimize campus-wide Wi-Fi networks, including wireless controllers, access points, and authentication services (e.g., RADIUS, WPA2/3, 802.1X).

Perform regular assessments of wireless coverage, signal strength, interference, and client density using site survey tools.

Configure and manage Wi-Fi access policies, SSIDs, VLANs, and QoS parameters for various user groups and campus zones.

Collaborate with network engineers to integrate Wi-Fi infrastructure with core switching and routing systems.

Handle incident response and troubleshooting for Wi-Fi connectivity and performance issues reported by end users.

Support onboarding and configuration of BYOD and institutional devices on wireless networks.

Document network changes, asset inventories, topologies, and configuration standards.

Stay current with best practices and emerging technologies in wireless networking, especially for large-scale, high-density environments like academic or healthcare campuses.

Assist with firmware updates, security patches, and scheduled maintenance for wireless devices and controllers.

Provide Tier 2/3 support for networking-related service requests and coordinate with vendors as needed.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES

Required:

3+ years of experience in Wi-Fi / network administration, preferably in an enterprise or campus environment

Strong working knowledge of 802.11 wireless protocols, Aruba/Cisco/Mist/UniFi platforms, and network monitoring tools (e.g., Ekahau, AirMagnet, NetSpot)

Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, firewalls, and network security protocols

Experience with network access control (NAC) systems and authentication services (RADIUS, LDAP, SAML)

Ability to analyze wireless logs, AP statistics, and user metrics to diagnose issues

Familiarity with scripting or automation tools (Python, Ansible, CLI scripts) is a plus

Excellent documentation, communication, and time-management skills

Desired:

A bachelors of science in a technology related field

Experience with scripting and automation tools used in server environments
