Position: Janitorial and Custodial Worker
Position Type: Full-Time Permanent (on-site)
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Compensation: $17.60 - $21.06 hourly
Reports to: Janitor Team Leader

Position Summary:
This is a vacant position.
Responsible for cleaning duties of St Paul’s L’Amoreaux Centre, The Terrace, residential units, St. Paul’s Church and the related grounds, green space, pedestrian and traffic areas, and for room preparation, set-up and take-down for programs and services.

Responsibilities:
  • Cleans offices, meeting rooms, public areas, washrooms, kitchen, dining room and program space in SPLC, The Terrace and St Paul’s Church
  • Replaces depleted supplies in washrooms, kitchen, dining room, public area, office areas or other areas as directed
  • Performs routine upkeep and general cleaning of exterior premises and the related grounds, green space, pedestrian and traffic areas
  • Completes non-routine cleaning and special projects according to assigned Job Orders
  • Removes garbage and recyclables daily and prepares bins for municipal pick-up weekly
  • Responds to emergency cleaning and upkeep requests as needed
  • Prepares space for programs, services, meetings and activities with furniture set-up according to job order or type of activity
  • Conducts take-down after programs, services, meetings and activities and related cleaning and maintenance of the space
  • Adjusts lighting, temperature, ventilation, etc. as necessary
  • Stores all furniture and supplies safely and in the appropriate locations after use
  • Cleans and maintains all furniture and supplies in good condition after use and reports any damage
  • Provides special cleaning services in residential units and cleaning of appliances according to client requests assigned through the Work Order system
  • Cleans vacated units in preparation for new occupants

Qualifications:
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Experience using various cleaning machines or equipment such as vacuum, swing machine, scrubber machine and carpet cleaning machines
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to read job orders and log reports and write actions and tasks completed in English
  • Ability to perform physical work including lifting, pulling, and moving furniture and objects
  • Shifts are Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
    Weekend shifts are Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Must be able to work every alternate weekend
  • Background Check required
  • Proof of full COVID-19 Vaccination or Medical Exemption Certificate required
