Seeking experienced Heavy Equipment operators for Civil projects. Minimum 3 Years experience operating Heavy Equipment in the Civil Construction Industry, including excavator, front end loader, dozer, and grader.

Excavator operators - preference will be given to operators with experience trenching to grade for pipelaying operations- experience working/excavating around overhead and underground powerlines, operating in tight areas, and knowledge or City of Whitehorse and Yukon Government standard specifications.

Must be physically able to work long hours outdoors, maintain equipment and work on a fast paced crew.

Abilities and Duties

-Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in difficult and congested areas near buried and above ground infrastructure

-Knowledge and ability to interpret grade stakes and various other survey layout in completing grading and underground infrastructure construction.

-Equipment inspections, maintenance and pre-trips including greasing, lubricant checks, fueling, cleaning filters, serviceability review and equipment cleanliness.

-Drivers license required, class 5 minimum.

Compensation based on experience. Operators at the top of the pay scale for this position must have demonstrated exceptional ability, certification and experience operating around live power, gas, water and other buried and hazardous infrastructure.
