(ECI) has been to assist self-pay hospital patients find the means to pay their medical bills through participation in various government assistant programs. Job Description:

The Bilingual Screener (English/Spanish) position is responsible for contacting and screening discharged uninsured patients for government program eligibility, closes ineligible accounts and advances potential qualifying patients to the next level.

This is a hybrid position. Must live in Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX area and must complete the training in Richardson, TX.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Contacts patients to screen for government assistance programs and creates collaborative teamwork with those eligible for application advancement
  • Uses clear, simple language to ensure understanding in English and/or Spanish
  • Complies with all state and federal laws regarding HIPAA and confidentiality requirements
  • Able to remain focused and productive each day with minimum supervision
  • Demonstrates respect for all individuals
  • Adheres to ECI's Mission, Vision and Core Values
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • High School diploma / GED (or higher)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Prior customer service experience desired
  • Required hours: 1pm to 5pm, M-F (some flexibility allowed)
Telecommuting Requirements:
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy,
Physical and Work Requirements:
  • Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, long periods working at a computer
